12 Mar The Council of Ministers approves the ROTT with the wording proposed by the CNTC
The Council of Ministers last Friday, February 15, approved the modification of the Regulation of the Land Transport Ordinance Law (ROTT ), with the amendments proposed by the National Committee of the Road Transport, CNTC , among which the one related to the average age of the fleet .
The same day, Mercedes Gómez Álvarez, General Director of Land Transport, of the Ministry of Public Works , sent a letter to the president of the CNTC and vice president of the CETM , Carmelo González Sayas , in which he expressed, expressly, the approval of the Royal Decree by which the ROTT was approved, modifying the LOTT and other complementary rules, relating -among others- to matters of driver training, control documents road transport and transport of dangerous goods .
The general director pointed out that, finally, the text of The new regulations met the requirements of the National Committee , so that there is no disorderly access to the transport market . In this sense, Mercedes Gómez communicated to Carmelo González the change in the wording of article 44.2: “The average age of the fleet assigned to the authorization after the incorporation of the new vehicle or the replacement of one of those who were assigned, can not overcome the one that said fleet had before the new ascription or substitution ” .
With the approval of the ROTT, which will be published in the BOE soon, it responds to one of the issues raised by the National Committee. However, there is still much to be done, so that the negotiations with Fomento and the rest of the ministries involved will continue, this week, to comply with the dozen demands made on November 22 by the carriers .
